Keeping up the
efforts to promote Thailand as a Golf Paradise and to attract the
growing golf segment in India, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)
will collaborate with Thai Airways International to promote Thai Airways
International as a “Golf Friendly Airline” by waiving off fees
relating to the Golf Bag on all Thai Airways/THAI Smile routes
originating from India to Thailand in selected classes. The offer is
valid from 1 May to 31 October 2013.
TAT recently
appointed India’s ace golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar to be its Brand
Ambassador to promote golf tourism across Thailand in order to project
the country as one of the most sought after golfing destinations.
Thai Airways
International has 52 flights a week, non-stop from India to Thailand and
has been operating to the country for the past 53 years starting with
Kolkata. It has operations from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and
Bangalore, apart from seasonal services to Varanasi and Gaya. The
airline recently launched THAI Smile, a sub brand of Thai Airways which
flies a non-stop service twice a week from New Delhi to Phuket, Mumbai
to Phuket, and Ahmedabad to Bangkok.
Recently,
Thailand hosted the Touché Golf League in Bangkok, Indian Golf Tourism
Association (IGTA) tournament in Phuket, and Take Solutions-World
Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) tournament in Bangkok.
